Audio Recording Anyone?

With CES going on this week there have been may gadgets released (some good some bad). I caught this one from the guys at CrunchGear. Belkin has released the Podcast Studio. It is a 2-track recording solution. While they have aimed this at podcasters it could be used for any filed recording. What, besides a podcast, would you record with a unit that made your iPod a .wav recorder with XLR and 1/4" stereo inputs? I think Belkin has scored extra points with the "steampunk" feel of the dials on the face of the unit.
Of course no release date or pricing yet but I will update this post when I find out more.
